Robert W. Linker, III, MD
Robert Linker, MD is board-certified in thoracic surgery and is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Linker completed his medical school training in 1978 at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He went on to complete his general surgery residency at University of Cincinnati Hospital Group.
Following his residency in general surgery, he pursued further specialization in cardiothoracic surgery at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed his training in 1985 and was Assistant Professor of Thoracic Surgery until 1986 when he began private practice in Louisville.
His clinical interests are benign pulmonary and esophageal disease, thoracic oncology, minimally invasive thoracic surgery and da Vinci® robotic lung surgery. He is a participant in Baptist Hospital East’s weekly Multidisciplinary Lung Care Center.
He and Jonathan Kraut, MD joined Baptist Healthcare System in January 2009 and established Thoracic Surgical Specialists.
Dr. Linker is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association.
